The shed has been built by students under the Otago Secondary Tertiary College (part of Otago Polytech). The course they study is part of the BConstructive programme (BCATS).
Some of this years students have already gone into apprenticeships. We would describe the shed as a charity shed. The proceeds of the sale, over and above the materials cost, will be directed into a charity project in Vanuatu this year. It will help fund a community project on one of the islands such as a new water supply, or classroom, or medical clinic.
