Through the autumn in the lower North Island the property market was strong.
Listings were steady, though have been keenly sought, especially in the residential and lifestyle categories, where newcomers to Manawatu and Horowhenua are driving the market.
Plenty of motivated buyers are active. They are unconcerned about the time of year, though with buyers traditionally reluctant to offer property in the winter, there is generally a lack of supply. Good properties are scarce, values will therefore remain high.
Meanwhile, farmers in the region have had an excellent season. Stock prices are favourable, confidence is high and lamb forward contracts are sufficiently encouraging to keep it that way for some time.
Anyone offering rural property for spring sale in the region is likely to be enthusiastically received. Those considering this would be well advised to prepare early.
