About Simon Richards

Simon Richards is from a South Canterbury farming background, having been involved in sales and marketing in the agricultural sector since the late 1990s.

Prior to joining the team at PGG Wrightson Real Estate, Simon was consistently in the top five selling consultants for a nationwide real estate company. These awards included overall number-one listing and selling consultant in both 2014 and 2016.

These awards are a testament to Simon’s professional ability to successfully market, negotiate and sell properties of all shapes and sizes across the rural and lifestyle spectrum. Whether it is a dairy unit, sheep, beef or deer property, cropping farm or lifestyle block on the edge of town, Simon takes pride in offering a high level of service to both vendors and purchasers, which has resulted in much repeat and referral business.

We had our first contact with Simon 15 years ago in his former life as a fertiliser company rep. The friendship formed then was the foundation for our continuing relationship. For several years prior to listing our farm, Simon would call regularly, partly social and partly to keep up to date on our future plans. When the decision to retire was finally made there was no question as to whom the listing would be with - the agent who had shown interest in our future plans and who had maintained regular contact. From the first meeting in January when we signed up, through the marketing campaign in September with the many interested parties taken over the farm, to the opening of the tender offers in late October, Simon’s meticulous manner and consideration of our mixed feelings on the sale of a fourth generation (or long held) family farm couldn’t be faulted.
